A bulbing fennel that is crisp with a strong licorice flavor. Be careful not to disturb the roots when transplanting, and clip off any flower stalks that form. Harvest when the base thickens or when the bulb is big enough for your needs. Cut the bulb just above the tap root, and the leaves a few inches above the bulb if you are planning on storing it.
