Lavender, Ellagance Purple

Lavandula angustifolia

Borderline Perennial (Zone 5)

Full Sun

Blooms Mid-Summer to Early Fall

12”-18” Tall

Plant 12”-18” Apart

Award winning European variety of lavender that produces beautiful flower spikes in the first year. Lavender smells lovely, and it’s oil is used for a wide range of things from stress relief to anxiety. Lavender also makes a nice culinary addition to strawberry jams, desserts, or anything that wants a slight floral flavor. This variety is more winter hardy than most and has the best chance of surviving the winter if planted in site that drains well and is protected from the wind or planted near a thermal mass (like a paved surface or a building).
